In recent years, climate change has become increasingly visible and extreme weather events, like heat waves, droughts and floods, are expected to become more frequent, intense and unpredictable. Faba bean ( Vicia faba ) is one of the oldest vegetables in the world and is the third most important legume after soybean and pea. In Romania, at Vegetable Research Development Station Buzau, a breeding program on Vicia faba has been initiated The main objective of any faba bean crop breeding program is the development of improved breeding accessions with adequate resistance/tolerance to biotic as well as abiotic stresses. In order to achieve this goal, we evaluated quality traits and yield of ten accessions (A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9, A10) and also, screened the resistance/tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses. The accessions were screened for two successive years 2020-2021. Accessions were ranked for abiotic and biotic stresses ranging from 1 (Highly tolerant) to 5 (Highly susceptible). Considerable variation was found within the studied accessions. The data collected during the studied period showed that accessions A4, A7, A6, A3 and A8 were least affected by biotic stresses. The accessions A4 and A7 were selected as highly tolerant against Botrytis fabae attack , with less than 10% foliage damage. These sources could be used in future breeding programs to improve resistance of biotic and abiotic stresses in faba bean. [NA(1] Can be deleted
