Although the almond finds good conditions for growth and fruiting in the South-Eastern part of Romania and certain areas of Banat, its culture has been neglected for many years. Recently, there is a tendency of reconsidering almonds as a very profitable fruit crop because of the high request and high price, both on the domestic and international markets. From a practical point of view, the almond late-blooming cultivars but with an early ripening period are valuable because the flower bud's differentiation for the next harvest is done until late autumn. At the same time, the frosts risks during the flowering period are reduced. Research Station for Fruit Growing Constanța has an almond collection with 110 genotypes. During 2020-2021, some of them were selected and studied from the point of view of the phenological stages to identify the late-blooming ones as genitors for future breeding programs. At the end of the study, the following genotypes with medium blooming time: Veronica and Mirela and with late flowering period: Ferragnes, Filippo Ceo, Rims, Printesa, and Tohani, were selected and are presented in the actual paper.
