SmartProtect Platform is a Thematic Network developed under the SmartProtect project, an H2020 Research Programme (Grant Agreement 862563) that compiles IPM solutions for vegetable production that are ready for practice on: - Application techniques such as sprayers, spraying drones, UV-systems, distribution systems for beneficials - Decision support techniques - Diagnostics and detections techniques such as ELISA, RNA, and DNA methods, and mobile disorder detection - Monitoring techniques for crops and insects The application range of the displayed IPM solutions may vary, with possible solutions being bacteria, beneficials, fungi, insects, mites, nematodes and viruses. SmartProtect Platform is designed as an interactive tool, where users can also suggest IPM solutions be incorporated and uploaded on the Platform, while the Platform is available in 12 different languages (Dutch, French, German, Estonian, Slovenian, Portuguese, Czech, Spanish, Latvian, Greek, and Hungarian). Consequently, the interactivity between the project's partners and end-users is facilitated, while communication and knowledge sharing is promoted. SmartProtect Platform's development is based on two main characteristics. More specifically, the searchability and the update ability. It is a user-friendly, free to access and simple to use online tool for the entry and finding of modern innovative IPM solutions for vegetable crops. End-users such as farmers, farm advisors, SMEs, researchers, industry members can have access to IPM technologies and methodologies, best practices and practical tools for the implementation of IPM in the daily practice of vegetable crops both in open field and greenhouse production systems. Behind the users' interface, an administrative control panel is also available for the consortium's members, assisting the registration and categorization of solutions. Thus, the SmartProtect consortium acts as a reviewer of the content presented on the SmartProtect Platform, ensuring the correctness and completeness of the promoted IPM solutions, providing all end-users with the ability to access available novel high-end information on vegetable IPM.
