Curitiba (Parana State, Brazil) is one of the greenest countries' cities. This study focused on the March 29 th Square, an important public space, with almost 30% of the district' green area. Research' goals were to understand the mainly urban interventions that occurred since it was built, and changed the original project, to adjust it to the local human needs, and to document and preserves the artistic and cultural memory, regarding with its landscape and architectural aspects. It was projected in 1965 by three renowned Brazilian Urban Architects, with the contribution an important Brazilian draftsman, printmaker, ceramist, and muralist. Since this Square was built in 1966 it has been focused of several interventions, concerning with the urban, architectural and landscape spheres, which modified the original project design. For this purpose, we carried out a Square' actual plants inventory, an interview one of the three architect who project it, a study of the neighbourhood profile, and traffic during the last years, and a survey of gymnastic and furniture equipment's installed since this Square was built. We concluded that the monumental March 29 th Square is strongly connected with the Modernism Movement occurred worldwide at 1960 th years. Regarding with the interventions occurred since it was built, they changed the original project to adjust it to the local human needs, and to the local traffic, mischaracterize the original design concept of the proposed project. In such way we invite you to think about what is more important as a future landscape conduct directive: to preserve green and historical patrimony areas or to adjust it to the humans and traffic needs?
