Twenty-two strawberry genotypes of different origins were studied regarding fruits biochemical compounds contained during the 2020 n 2021 period in the Research Institute for Fruit Growing Pitești, Romania. This study aimed to determine soluble solids, total sugar, organic acids, ascorbic acid, total anthocyans, total polyphenols of studied genotypes fruits to be used in strawberry breeding programs. The values for soluble solids varied from 5.17 ░ to 10.33░ Brix, titratable acidity from 0.38% to 1.36%, vitamin C content from 38.78 mg to 79.2 mg / 100g of fresh fruit, total anthocyans from 30.55 mg to 568.16 mg of gallic acid / kg of fresh fruit, and total polyphenols values from 2126.09 to 7530 pelargonidin-3-glucoside mg / kg of fresh fruit. This study detected high values for soluble solids on 'Ireal' cv., for acid ascorbic on 'Alba' cv., for total anthocyans on 08-7-5 genotype, and total polyphenols on 'Asia' cv. Also, 'Daroyal', 'Gaviota', 'Galletta', 'Sarom', 'FC 140-13', 'Darselect' and 'Asia' genotypes exceeded biochemical values of control cultivar 'Alba'. Therefore, these genotypes could be used in strawberry breeding programs to obtain new genotypes with high levels of bioactive compounds.
